After an attack on a number of its e-commerce websites, Warner Music Group notified individuals about a data breach. On August 5, 2020, the company learned that “an unauthorized third party had compromised a number of US-based e-commerce websites WMG operates but that are hosted and supported by an external service provider.” This unauthorized party may have potentially acquired a copy of the personal information individuals entered into the websites between April 25, 2020 and August 5, 2020. Information that may have been accessed includes names, email addresses, telephone numbers, billing addresses, and payment card details.  After becoming aware of this incident Warner Music Group launched an investigation, notified credit card providers and law enforcement, and is encouraging individuals to remain vigilant.
