Blackbaud recently notified Northwestern Memorial HealthCare about a data incident that occurred between February 7 and May 20. During this time, an unauthorized individual gained access to the company’s system which included personal information on donors or patients who were named in donations. Northwestern Memorial reported that five people had their Social Security numbers, financial accounts and payment information accessed. They are advising affected individuals to review their health care provider statements. This unauthorized individual did not have access to the electronic medical record systems and Blackbaud believes that the data will not be misused or made public.
