Data Leak Alert: Billing Information of Some DigitalOcean Customers Exposed

In April 2021, DigitalOcean found that some of their customers’ billing information was exposed from unauthorized access. The billing information included billing name, billing address, payment card expiration, last four digits of payment card, and payment card bank name. DigitalOcean has since fixed this flaw.

What This Means

When a site is breached, your personal information can be accessed by hackers and can be made publicly available on the internet. Any information of a person has a chance to be exposed, no matter how secure the site can be.

How to Protect Yourself
