Data Leak Alert: Around 235 Million TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Users Were Exposed After Massive Database Leak

Social Data, a company known for selling influencer data to marketers, is responsible for exposing an unsecured database of TikTok, Instagram and YouTube user profiles. The data in this database includes personal information such as names, images, contact info, account description, last post timestamp, age, gender, and statistics about followers. Comparitech explains that a large amount of this data originally came from Deep Social, a company that was banned by Facebook and Instagram marketing APIs in 2018. However, Social Data claims it is not linked to Deep Social. The database was shut down about three hours after Comparitech reached out. It is important that users of these platforms should be extremely aware of phishing attacks and other scams after this incident.
