Bed Bath & Beyond: Possible Data Breach?

On October 28, 2022, Bed Bath & Beyond said that they are reviewing a possible data breach. An authorized third party accessed its data through a phishing scam that accessed the hard drive and shared drive of one of its employees.

The company is yet to confirm the information that might have been leaked due to the data breach however, they believe that no personal or sensitive information would have been accessed by the attacker. A complaint was filed with the Security and Exchange Commission on Friday.

 

What this Means

When a site is breached, your personal information can be accessed by hackers and can be made publicly available on the internet. Any information of a person has a chance to be exposed, no matter how secure the site can be.
